Job Description
Billing & Transactions: Scan merchandise barcodes quickly and accurately, process cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, coupons, and gift vouchers using the retail POS software.
Cash Management: Count the cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift to ensure accuracy and account for any discrepancies (cash counting/reconciliation).
Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer basic product or pricing queries, and handle returns or exchanges according to DMart’s store policy.
Material Handling: Ensure items are packed safely and efficiently in bags, checking that fragile items aren't damaged.
Loss Prevention: Verify price tags, spot duplicate barcodes, and assist in preventing inventory shrinkage or billing errors at the counter.
Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the billing counter clean, organized, and adequately stocked with carry bags, receipt rolls, and stationery.
