Data Management Associate (Business Analyst)

The impact you will have in this role: 

As a member of the Data Management team within Enterprise Data Solutions, the Associate will support the delivery of data initiatives by contributing to requirements analysis, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration. The team operates in a fast-paced, high-impact environment focused on enabling data-driven transformation, supporting modernization efforts, and strengthening enterprise data practices. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, analytically strong, and comfortable working in an agile environment. Success in this role requires the ability to work collaboratively across teams, take ownership of assigned tasks, and adapt to changing priorities while building a strong foundation in business analysis and data-informed delivery.

In this role, you will support assigned Data Domains and enterprise initiatives by working closely with Business, Product, Operations, and Technology partners. You will assist in analyzing and profiling data, documenting requirements, and business rules, and communicating effectively with a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  
Your Primary Responsibilities:

Project & Delivery Support

  • Support multiple data initiatives across the delivery lifecycle, from requirements discovery through execution and close-out, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assist with project planning activities including scope tracking, dependency identification, and delivery status reporting.
  • Contribute to tracking and reporting KPIs and delivery metrics aligned to business outcomes.
  • Help identify and track data-related issues and risks, supporting escalation and stakeholder communication as needed.
  • Actively participate as a contributor within agile squads, including stand-ups, grooming sessions, and delivery reviews.

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work with Business, Operations, Product Owners, and Technology teams to gather, analyze, and document data requirements for business processes and downstream use cases.
  • Assist in defining and documenting business rules to support consistent data interpretation and usage.
  • Support the translation of business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items for agile delivery teams.
  • Contribute to stakeholder workshops and working sessions by capturing requirements, discussion outcomes, and action items.
  • Prepare analysis summaries, documentation, and status updates for stakeholder review.
  • Support the development of presentations and materials for business and delivery audiences.

Data Management & Stewardship

  • Assist with preliminary data analysis to assess data availability, identify Data Sources, and support onboarding of new or enhanced data.
  • Hands on experience on SQL to support data profiling, validation, and issue investigation under guidance.
  • Assist business and operational partners in defining and documenting business data elements, including names, definitions, and valid values.
  • Support data modelers by providing analysis inputs, source-system context, and documentation support.
  • Monitoring of DQ Controls, contribute to data quality initiatives by supporting data profiling, documentation and creation of data quality and validation rules, and basic root-cause analysis.
  • Help maintain metadata for critical and prioritized data elements in enterprise repositories, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Follow established procedures and controls, escalating issues early and demonstrating strong ethical judgment.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience 

 
Talents Needed for Success:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or delivery-focused role, preferably within financial services.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Foundational experience in business requirements analysis and stakeholder engagement.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Excel for basic data analysis and reporting.
  • Understanding of how data supports business processes, reporting, and operational use cases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document requirements clearly.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with data management/governance, metadata concepts, or tools (e.g., Collibra) is a plus.
  • Exposure to data quality concepts, analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau), or Agile/Scrum delivery models is a plus.
