1. Operational

Duties:

Set up, monitor, and

maintain dialysis machines and equipment according to prescribed procedures.

Perform routine

equipment checks, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper

functioning of all dialysis equipment.

Prepare dialysis

solution and ensure accurate measurement and mixing of chemicals as per

protocols.

Maintain inventory

of dialysis supplies and equipment, and order necessary supplies as needed.

2. Patient Care:

Assist patients in

preparing for dialysis treatment, including weighing, assessing vital signs,

and accessing vascular access sites (e.g., fistulas, grafts, or catheters).

Monitor patients

during dialysis sessions, observing for any signs of complications and

promptly reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.

Administer

prescribed medications or intravenous fluids during dialysis treatments as

directed by healthcare providers.

Provide emotional

support and reassurance to patients undergoing dialysis, addressing their

concerns and ensuring their comfort throughout the procedure.

3. Documentation

and Compliance:

Maintain accurate

and thorough documentation of patient information, dialysis treatments, and any

relevant observations or interventions.

Adhere to infection

control protocols, ensuring proper sterilization of equipment and adherence

to universal precautions to prevent the spread of infections.

Comply with

regulatory guidelines, accreditation standards, and hospital policies related

to dialysis procedures and patient care.

4. Team

Collaboration:

Collaborate

effectively with dialysis nurses, nephrologists, and other healthcare team

members to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.

Participate in

multidisciplinary team meetings, sharing insights and observations related to

patient progress and treatment effectiveness.

Provide training and

guidance to new staff members or students rotating through the dialysis unit.
