Job Description

Job Location:-Chennai (Preferred) | Mumbai | Bangalore | Hyderabad | Gurgaon | Noida

The ELV / IBMS Design Engineer will support the design and development of integrated ELV and IBMS systems for Data Center projects. 

Working under senior engineers, you will contribute to design development (LOD200–LOD300), drawings, coordination, and documentation, while gaining structured exposure to IBMS architecture, system integration, and commissioning processes. 

This role is ideal for engineers who want to build expertise in integrated smart systems (BMS + EPMS + Security) within mission-critical environments. Also In case you have no prior Data Center experience, you have good to great ELV system design experience from LoD200 to LoD400 in areas mentioned in the description, you can apply too

Key Responsibilities

ELV & IBMS Design Support 

• Ability to Own and Drive the design of ELV systems, including:  
• CCTV and Video Management Systems (VMS)  
• Access Control Systems (ACS)  
• Fire Alarm Systems (FAS)  
• Public Address / Voice Alarm (PA/VA)  
• Support basic understanding and implementation of:  
• BMS / IBMS system concepts  
• Integration between ELV systems  

Drawings & BIM Development (CORE RESPONSIBILITY) 

• Prepare and update:  
• AutoCAD drawings (layouts, schematics, device placements)  
• Revit models (if applicable)  
• Develop:  
• Device layouts (cameras, readers, detectors, panels)  
• Cable routing and containment layouts  
• Assist in:  
• Zoning layouts (security zones, access levels)  

Documentation & Engineering Support 

• Assist in preparation of:  
• Equipment schedules and BOQs  
• Cable schedules and device lists  
• Technical specifications (basic level)  
• Support development of:  
• Basic schematics and network diagrams  
• I/O lists (under guidance)  

Coordination & Project Support 

• Coordinate with:  
• Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural, and ICT teams  
• Participate in:  
• Design coordination meetings  
• Clash detection and resolution (BIM)  
• Implement design inputs and revisions from client and senior engineers  
• Participate in Quality control and Quality assurance in reviewing design from other engineers. 

Design of IBMS & Integration (KEY LEARNING AREA) 

• Own delivery design documents such as DBR, BOQ, Schematics to:  
• BMS / IBMS architecture concepts  
• EPMS integration basics  
• Communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus – awareness level)  
• Support development of:  
• Cause & Effect matrices (basic assistance)  

• Sequence of Operations (SOO) (learning level)  

Construction & Commissioning Exposure 

• Support during:  
• Construction phase (RFIs, clarifications)  
• Participating and support during by developing test procedures, for:  
• System testing and commissioning  
• Basic Cause & Effect validation  
• FAT / SAT processes (as observer/support)  

Mandatory Skills & Competencies 

Technical Fundamentals 

• Basic understanding of:  
• ELV systems (CCTV, ACS, FAS, PA)  
• Structured cabling (copper & fiber basics)  
• Awareness of:  
• Device layouts and system zoning  
• Interest in:  
• Smart systems / BMS / automation  

Software Skills 

• AutoCAD (mandatory)  
• Basic knowledge of Revit (preferred)  

Communication & Attitude (IMPORTANT) 

• Good communication skills (verbal & written)  
• Ability to explain drawings and design intent clearly  
• Willingness to learn IBMS and system integration  
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams  

Qualifications

• BE / BTech / Diploma in:  Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / Telecom  
• From 5 to 9 years working experience with 2 years minimum ELV solutions design experience for Data Centers.

Good to Have 

• Internship or project exposure to:  
• ELV / BMS systems  
• Data center / commercial buildings  
• Basic awareness of:  
• TIA-942  
• NFPA / NBC standards  
• Exposure to:  
• BMS / IBMS platforms (even academic level is fine)
