Job Description

Engineering Project/Program Manager

Location: Chennai, India (Hybrid)

Department: Program Management Office (PMO) / Engineering Operations

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role: Drive Operational Excellence Across Distributed Teams

Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives on keeping complex initiatives moving smoothly? We are seeking a Program Coordinator in Chennai to run the operational cadence that keeps our global engineering initiatives on track.

In this role, you will reduce coordination drag across multiple distributed teams, ensuring delivery risks, dependencies, and critical decisions never get lost between meetings. Serving as our local point of contact (“boots on the ground”) in Chennai, you will collaborate closely with global Program Managers to optimize team communication and maximize visibility into project health.

What Makes This Role Exciting

As a Program Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our delivery engine. This isn't just about scheduling meetings—it’s about actively surface blocking issues, managing the governance frameworks that protect our production environments, and turning Jira data into actionable insights for leadership. You will have a direct impact on cross-functional alignment and play a vital role in building a connected, well-informed engineering culture through proactive communications and visual reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Manager Collaboration & Delivery Cadence: Work directly with global program managers to assist with day-to-day operations. Attend standups and sprint planning to help surface blockers, track commitments, and ensure delivery risks stay highly visible.

  • Action Item Tracking & Follow-Through: Capture and distribute crisp notes, key decisions, and action items. Maintain aggressive follow-ups on time-sensitive work streams, including End-of-Life (EOL) timelines, Collaboration Agreements (CA), and team adoption tracking.

  • Governance & Change Management: Facilitate the Change Control Board (CCB) process. Ensure tickets are fully documented, reviewed, and approved according to protocol to prevent late-stage deployment surprises.

  • Ticket Lifecycle Management: Act as the primary gatekeeper for critical ticket queues (IAM/TID), routing them efficiently through the review pipeline to prevent bottlenecks in the development cycle.

  • Jira Administration & Reporting: Create and maintain Jira projects, boards, and dashboards to track the health of key initiatives and epics, translating raw data into clear progress reports for leadership.

  • Planning Logistics: Coordinate the end-to-end logistics for quarterly planning cycles, managing schedules and maintaining clarity when multiple parallel owners are driving initiatives.

  • Program Communications: Own the end-to-end production of the Platform newsletter, from gathering engineering technical updates to drafting content and managing the executive approval loop.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience: 2+ years of dedicated experience in program coordination, project coordination, operations, or a highly related operational role.

  • Agile Tooling: Working knowledge of Jira, including comfort with light project/board administration and generating basic reports.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to handle crisp documentation and cross-functional facilitation.

  • Organization: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills; proven capability to balance multiple parallel workstreams without losing attention to detail.

  • Collaboration Infrastructure: High proficiency with modern digital collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Miro, Slack, or Zoom).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting Agile software delivery teams (participating in standups, sprint planning, and managing RAID logs).

  • Hands-on experience facilitating formal change control or governance workflows (e.g., CCB).

  • Advanced expertise in building customized Jira dashboards for initiative health reporting.

  • Familiarity with structured program or process methodologies (such as PMP, Certified Scrum Master, Six Sigma, or Lean).
