GPS Installation Technician

We are looking for a skilled and responsible GPS Installation Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain GPS tracking and vehicle telematics devices. The technician will work on cars, trucks, buses, commercial vehicles, and other fleet vehicles at customer locations.

• Key ResponsibilitiesInstall GPS tracking devices in cars, trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles.
• Perform proper wiring of GPS devices with vehicle power supply, ACC/ignition, and ground connections.
• Install and configure GPS antennas and related accessories.
• Integrate GPS devices with additional sensors when required.
• Install and troubleshoot fuel level sensors, temperature sensors, RFID devices, panic/SOS buttons, and other IoT accessories.
• Test GPS location, ignition status, network connectivity, and data transmission after installation.
• Configure GPS devices according to company and customer requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve GPS device, wiring, power supply, and connectivity issues.
• Perform device replacement, removal, and reinstallation when required.
• Ensure wiring is properly insulated, secured, and concealed for a professional installation.
• Maintain installation records, including vehicle number, GPS IMEI/device ID, SIM details, and installation photographs.
• Coordinate with the technical support team to verify devices on the GPS tracking platform.
• Visit customer sites for new installations, maintenance, and service calls.
• Follow vehicle electrical safety procedures during installation.
• Provide timely updates on completed and pending installations.
• Required SkillsBasic knowledge of vehicle electrical and automotive wiring systems.
• Experience with 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems.
• Knowledge of GPS/GPRS/4G tracking devices.
• Ability to identify vehicle battery, ACC/ignition, and ground wiring.
• Basic knowledge of multimeter usage and electrical testing.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform field installations independently.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations.
• Preferred SkillsExperience installing vehicle GPS trackers and telematics devices.
• Experience with fuel level sensors, including capacitive and ultrasonic sensors.
• Knowledge of RS232, RS485, TTL-UART, analog, and digital interfaces is an advantage.
• Experience with AI dashcams, vehicle cameras, RFID readers, temperature sensors, and other IoT devices is an added advantage.
• QualificationITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, or a related technical field preferred.
• Candidates with hands-on GPS installation experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Additional RequirementsTwo-wheeler and valid driving licence preferred.
• Must be willing to travel for field installations.
• Should be flexible to work based on customer installation schedules.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
