Overview

The Infrastructure Architect defines and governs the global infrastructure architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy, cloud platforms, and digital operating models. The role ensures stable, scalable, and resilient infrastructure foundations supporting global business operations and digital services.

The Infrastructure Architect establishes infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps aligned with enterprise architecture and platform strategies. The role drives standardization, automation, and modernization across infrastructure environments while ensuring operational efficiency, resilience, and future readiness.

The role requires a strong strategic and technical profile combined with the ability to align infrastructure capabilities with enterprise and business priorities across global environments.

Main Responsibilities

•Own the infrastructure architecture domain, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles, technology strategy, and long-term operational needs

•Define and maintain infrastructure architecture vision and standards, supporting scalable and resilient digital platforms and services

•Advise senior leadership on infrastructure strategy and priorities, translating business needs into scalable infrastructure roadmaps, target platforms, and resilient operating models

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams and product owners to ensure alignment with enterprise infrastructure standards and compliance with relevant operational and technology requirements

•Act as a consultant on a broad range of infrastructure platforms, services, and vendor offerings to enable scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient business solutions

•Ensure infrastructure investments and platform decisions align with enterprise strategy, cost optimisation, and future capability requirements

•Establish and govern infrastructure reference architectures, standards, and lifecycle principles across on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments

•Drive modernization and simplification of infrastructure platforms to reduce complexity, technical debt, and operational risk

•Ensure alignment between infrastructure architecture, cloud strategy, and enterprise data and application requirements

•Collaborate with cloud, network, security, and product architects to ensure integrated and coherent infrastructure design across domains

•Ensure infrastructure solutions support performance, scalability, resilience, and business continuity across global operations

•Define and promote automation and standardized provisioning approaches to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and reliability across infrastructure environments.

•Support migration and transformation initiatives from legacy infrastructure to modern, scalable, and resilient platforms aligned with enterprise strategy.

•Provide architectural guidance and governance for major infrastructure and platform initiatives to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and long-term direction.

•Evaluate emerging infrastructure technologies and assess their enterprise fit, maturity, and long-term strategic and operational value.

•Contribute to architecture governance forums and cross-domain decision-making processes to ensure alignment, transparency, and coherent technology direction

Qualifications

•Experience working in complex multi market global organisations

•Extensive experience designing and governing enterprise-scale infrastructure architectures across global environments

•Strong expertise in hybrid infrastructure, virtualization, automation, and modern infrastructure platforms

•Broad understanding of cloud, network, security, and data architecture dependencies and their impact on scalable and resilient enterprise technology environments

•Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance resilience, performance, cost efficiency, and scalability across infrastructure and platform investments

•Strong commercial and strategic mindset with the ability to balance business value, cost efficiency, resilience, and long-term infrastructure investment decisions

•Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment on infrastructure strategy across business, supported by strong communication and stakeholder management skills
