KBS Business Controlling Process Manager
The KBS Business Controlling process manager will be responsible for standardizing and optimizing Business controlling processes worldwide and to achieve excellence in Business partnering and to ensure the Finance teams support business with Business controls and Analytics. Position is responsible for implementation of KBS BC vision. This role contributes to driving profitability through efficiency and productivity. Your mission is to eliminate local exceptions, drive operational excellence through automation and standardization of processes. This role ensures that financial activities comply with the KONE Financial Control Model (FCM) and global accounting standards, while providing actionable insights—not just numbers—to enable informed decision-making. This role bridges the gap between operational execution and strategic financial goals by applying Lean methodologies to drive efficiency. The role closely cooperates with a KBS BC team led by team leader and process specialists to ensure consistent and standard process applied accross all regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Global process standardization
- Design and maintain the Global Business Controlling process map, ensuring standard process across all entities.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures SOPs to reduce process variations and manual rework.
- Act as a Process Owner balancing global consistency with necessary local regulatory adaptations.
- Continuous Improvement & Digitalization
- Continuously develop and strengthen KBS BC capability to deliver the Best in class service to BC teams
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in current workflows using data-driven insights and process mining tools.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by training team in CI concepts and tools
- Lead automation initiatives (e.g. RPA) to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to STOP non-value-add activities, automate reporting, and leverage BI dashboards for enhanced visibility.
- Spearhead Global ERP rollouts and enhancements to ensure controlling requirements are integrated into the core system design.
- Performance Management & Governance
- Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as process cycle time, error rates, and automation levels to track the success of standardization.
- Establish a global governance framework , including regular process audits and to maintain compliance.
- Ensure adherence to KONE accounting standards, FCM principles, and internal controls
- Report on a regular basis to KBS Head of RTR and Business Controlling performance of the process, KPIs, process gaps and improvement projects status.
- Stakeholder cooperation & Change Management
- Build strong partnership with Regional Business controlling leaders to align process improvements with the broader business goals and share best practices.
- Drive intercultural change management, facilitating global workshops and training programs to ensure the adoption of new ways of working.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Chartered Accountant would be preferred
- 7+ years of progressive experience in finance ideally within a Global Business Services environment, including at least 3 years in business controlling or FP&A roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, reporting, and analysis processes.
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, process mapping tools and BI tools (Power BI preferred).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ability to manage change
- Ability to work independently in a matrix organization and influence decision-making
