Job Summary

The Polishing Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and

maintaining polishing equipment to ensure precision surface finishes on metal

components. This role requires attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and

adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate polishing machines according to job specifications and

production schedules.

• Select and install the appropriate polishing wheels, abrasives, belts, or

compounds.

• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to achieve required

surface finish, roundness, and dimensional tolerances.

• Load and unload components safely, ensuring proper alignment and clamping

before machining.

• Verify all work meets quality standards, customer specifications, and

engineering drawings.

• Identify defects such as scratches, chatter marks, material inconsistencies, or

dimensional deviations.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required:

• 10+ years of experience as a Polishing Machine Operator or similar role in a

manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of surface finish requirements and tolerances.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment for producing high-quality work

Preferred:

• Knowledge of metallurgy & surface finishing processes.

Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies

• Proficiency in operating polishing machines and tools.

• Experience with safety protocols and practices relevant to the industrial

environment.

• Perform routine maintenance on polishing machines, including cleaning,

lubrication, and replacing worn polishing materials.

• Follow all workplace safety guidelines, lockout/tagout procedures, and proper

use of PPE.
