Quality Inspector

Role OverviewQuality Inspectors are responsible for conducting in-process and final inspections of sheet metal fabricated components to ensure conformance to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and ISO 9001 quality standards. The team comprises experienced inspectors (leading inspection activities) and fresher trainees (learning under supervision).

• Key ResponsibilitiesPerform incoming inspection of raw materials (MS/SS/aluminium sheets, hardware, bought-out parts) —verify dimensions, surface condition, and mill certificates.
• Conduct in-process inspection at all production stages: laser cutting, press braking, welding, surface treatment, and assembly — using approved check sheets.
• Use precision measuring instruments: vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges, angle gauges, CMM (for senior inspectors), and go/no-go gauges.
• Interpret 2D engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) callouts to evaluate components against specified tolerances.
• Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming components; raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) with defect description and root cause for corrective action.
• Maintain calibration records for all measuring instruments; ensure instruments are within calibration validity period.
• Support ISO 9001 documentation: control plans, inspection checklists, FAI (First Article Inspection) reports, and PPAP documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports including rejection rate, defect Pareto, and corrective action status.
