SENIOR MANAGER - HUMAN RESOURCES (Chennai)
PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION
Act as a strategic HR Business Partner to the GBS India leadership team, enabling business growth through people, organization, and culture. Drive the design and execution of a future-ready people strategy aligned with global priorities, while contextualizing for the India market. HR Lead position for the GBS location in India.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the GBS India Lead, the Senior leadership Team and global stakeholders, influencing decision-making across talent, structure, and organizational effectiveness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner closely with the GBS India Head and global functional leaders to co-create and execute the people strategy aligned to business goals
- Act as a thought partner on organizational design, workforce planning, and capability building to support scale and transformation
- Translate business priorities into actionable HR interventions that drive performance, productivity, and engagement
- HR Lead role in GBS India, responsible for building the GBS hub in the location, shaping the people agenda during high-growth phases
- Enable sustainable scaling by designing structures, leadership capability, and talent pipelines
- Drive end-to-end talent agenda, including workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development
- Design and implement localized solutions for career pathing, retention, and engagement tailored to the India talent market
- Lead interventions to improve attrition, strengthen leadership capability, and enhance employee experience
- Partner with global CoEs to adapt and implement global HR frameworks (Performance Management, Talent Reviews, Rewards) for India relevance
- Ensure effective rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement of global people processes
- Coach and influence senior leaders on people-related decisions, team effectiveness, and leadership behaviors
- Support leaders in building high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams
- Recommend and implement HR policies and practices aligned with global standards while ensuring local compliance and relevance
- Drive consistency, fairness, and transparency in people practices
- Build strong partnerships with global HR, Talent Acquisition, Rewards, Finance, and other cross-functional teams
- Act as the primary HR interface for GBS India, ensuring alignment between global strategy and local execution
- Leverage people data and insights to inform decision-making and proactively address business challenges
- Monitor key metrics (attrition, engagement, performance) and drive targeted interventions

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA / Master’s in Human Resources or equivalent
- 10–13 years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience as an HR Business Partner in a global organization
- Proven experience supporting senior leadership and driving strategic HR initiatives
- Experience in setting up or scaling shared services / GBS environments is highly preferred
