This role is on the Chronicle team within Selling Partner Services. We own the Turismo product suite, which is powered by Ripple, a dynamic query engine. Turismo is a well loved product, with 15k+ users globally. Ripple is a PrestoDB based query engine that is built to scale, and processes 2M+ queries per week. We are a full stack team, with Product managers, UX designers, TPMs, SDEs, DEs and Data Scientists.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic & Technical Leadership:

Establish architectural patterns for enterprise analytics solutions

Design technical standards and best practices for analytics delivery

Create frameworks for metrics definition and governance

Lead implementation of strategic analytics initiatives

Drive innovation in analytics capabilities

Solution Development:

Analyze reports and dashboards to determine appropriate migration strategies

Leverage latest technologies to convert legacy report layouts and KPI calculations into modern AWS QuickSight solutions

Design and implement technical solutions with appropriate analytics strategy and data set design

Drive best practices in operational excellence, data modeling, and analysis

Ensure BI solutions correctly and efficiently support the business

Collaboration & Mentorship:

Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and build sophisticated analytics solutions

Mentor team members on architecture and design

Define patterns for self-service analytics platforms

Communicate effectively with management audiences through narratives and business reviews

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Proficiency in ETL processes and data modeling

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
