You will be a member of the Central Tax Accounting Group (CTAG), which is part of the Group Tax Function located in Amsterdam and Chennai. The Central Tax Accounting team has 6 FTEs globally who are collectively responsible for the consolidated corporate income tax position and related tax accounting processes within Philips.

Along with working with your colleagues in CTAG, our work also requires close contact with all the tax and accounting teams across the globe and Group Control, Group Treasury, Group Technical Oversight and Advisory and IT Transformation teams, amongst others.

You are responsible for

This position allows you to use your financial reporting and tax accounting knowledge to ensure the financial integrity and transparency of the Royal Philips IFRS consolidated tax position and related reporting processes. The role requires a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure all stakeholders work together to produce timely and accurate reporting. While performing on current commitments, the successful candidate will look for ways to continuously improve the tax accounting processes impacting the accounting and tax teams at a global scale.

You will be part of the team responsible for hands-on preparation of our financial and management reports on a monthly and quarterly basis, as well as the preparation of relevant tax disclosures included in our Annual Report and our Country Activity and Tax Report,

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

This role is designed for a technology‑driven tax professional who will strengthen Philips’ global tax processes through advanced tax technology, automation, and AI‑enabled solutions, while maintaining a solid foundational understanding of tax accounting principles.

Direct Tax Technology & Digital Enablement (Primary emphasis)

  • Hands‑on experience with Direct tax technology platforms used in corporate tax accounting , for e.g. Tax tools like Oracle HTP, Long View, Onestream, Onesource TR etc.
  • Ability to configure, enhance, and operate tax systems, including managing data flows, validations, reconciliations, and standardized outputs for global tax reporting.
  • Experience working closely with ERP systems (e.g., SAP,Oracle) and understanding how tax‑relevant data is sourced, structured, and consumed across systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to drive automation, simplification, and standardization across recurring tax processes in a GBS or shared services environment.
  • Strong interest in Direct tax technology transformation, including identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve data quality and process robustness.

AI‑Enabled Tax & Automation (working knowledge)

  • Hands‑on experience or exposure to AI‑enabled solutions in tax or finance, such as AI‑assisted data analysis, review support, or intelligent automation.
  • Demonstrated interest in Generative AI / Large Language Models (LLMs) applied to tax use cases, such as:
    • Drafting or supporting return‑to‑provision explanations
    • Preparing tax memos, disclosures, or management narratives
    • Assisting with data interpretation, variance analysis, or review activities
  • Ability to apply AI on top of existing tax systems and processes, enhancing efficiency and insight while maintaining appropriate review and controls.
  • Willingness to pilot, operationalize, and scale AI and automation use cases in collaboration with Group Tax, IT, and Digital teams, within defined governance guardrails.
  • Comfort working with evolving tools such as digital assistants, Copilot‑style solutions, or low‑code / automation platforms in a controlled enterprise environment.

Tax Accounting Knowledge (Working / Foundational)

  • Basic knowledge of IFRS tax accounting concepts, including current and deferred tax, ETR, and return‑to‑provision mechanics.
  • Working experience supporting tax provision and reporting processes from a systems, data, and process execution perspective.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and stakeholders’ expectations along with deadlines (month, quarter and year end and Annual Report deadlines),

Education/working experience required:

  • Master’s degree in accounting / finance / economics, or CPA / CA level qualification
  • 3+ years’ relevant experience in Tax Technology or Tax consulting. Experience of working in a similar role in-house or at a  Big 4 client will be considered.
