Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Director (Mechanical - HVAC) to lead our mechanical systems division in Chennai, India. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of HVAC systems while directing a team of skilled technicians and engineers. You will be responsible for ensuring all projects meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.   • Direct the design, engineering, and installation of HVAC systems for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and industry standards
  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of mechanical systems
  • Conduct comprehensive technical assessments and troubleshooting of complex HVAC systems to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and protocols to optimize system performance and longevity
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards applicable to HVAC installations in India
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to translate project requirements into effective mechanical solutions
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate equipment specifications to achieve optimal cost-effectiveness and performance
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and cost estimates for project proposals and stakeholder presentations
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in HVAC systems and mechanical engineering

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in HVAC systems design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance
  • Proven expertise in mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and building services engineering
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit for system design and documentation
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including budget oversight and cost estimation
  • Solid understanding of HVAC standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements applicable to Indian construction
  • Preferred: Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and energy efficiency optimization
  • Preferred: Knowledge of advanced HVAC technologies and sustainable mechanical systems design
  • Preferred: Professional certifications in HVAC engineering or related mechanical disciplines
  • Preferred: Experience managing vendor and contractor relationships in the Indian market
