Production Engineer

Plan, supervise, and optimize rubber manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. Ensure smooth operation of mixing, extrusion, molding, and curing lines while maintaining safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

 • Production Planning: Prepare daily/weekly schedules for rubber mixing, molding, extrusion, and curing based on orders and capacity

 • Process Control: Monitor key parameters like temperature, pressure, cycle time, and compound properties to ensure product quality

 • Quality Assurance: Work with QC to reduce rejections, scrap, and rework. Conduct root cause analysis for defects like air traps, flow marks, or under-cure

 • Manpower & Machine Mgmt: Allocate operators, train shop floor team, and ensure optimum machine utilization and OEE

 • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate with maintenance for preventive breakdown activities on mills, kneaders, presses, and extruders

 • Process Improvement: Drive lean, 5S, kaizen, and cost reduction projects. Optimize cycle time and material consumption

 • Documentation: Maintain batch sheets, production logs, SOPs, and ISO/IATF documentation

 • Safety & Compliance: Enforce PPE, safety protocols, and statutory compliance in rubber processing areas

Required Skills & Qualifications

 • Education: B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Rubber/Polymer Technology, Chemical, or Production

 • Experience: 2-6 years in rubber molding, extrusion, or compounding industry

 • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of rubber compounds, vulcanization, molding presses, extruders, banbury mixers

 • Tools: Knowledge of 7QC tools, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, 8D

 • Soft Skills: Team handling, problem solving, shift management, analytical thinking

Preferred 

Experience with auto components, oil seals, O-rings, gaskets, or tire manufacturing. Knowledge of IATF 16949.
