Senior Engineer

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Cloud Architecture & Platform Ownership

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP.
• Own cloud environments (Pre‑Prod and Prod) for assigned applications or platforms.
• Design and implement DR architectures and backup strategies with clearly defined RTO/RPO compliance.
• Optimize cloud cost, performance, and availability using best practices and cloud-native services.

Advanced DevSecOps & Automation

• Design and enhance end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines for microservices, IoT platforms, and serverless workloads.
• Embed DevSecOps controls including SAST, DAST, container security, secrets encryption, and runtime security.
• Implement automated rollback, blue‑green, and canary deployment strategies.
• Define release readiness checks, change control workflows, and environment reconciliation processes.

Kubernetes & Platform Engineering

• Own Kubernetes clusters (EKS/GKE) including scaling, upgrades, network policies, and security hardening.
• Support Helm‑based deployments and cluster‑wide observability setups.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across container, network, and application layers.

• Cluster‑Wide Observability & SRE Enablement
  Implement and operate cluster‑level observability stacks including metrics, logs, and tracing. Enable proactive monitoring for node health, pod performance, API server latency, and workload SLOs using Grafana, Prometheus, and centralized logging.

Linux System Administration

• Administer and manage Linux servers (RHEL / Ubuntu / Amazon Linux) across Dev, Pre‑Prod, and Prod environments.
• Perform OS installation, configuration, patching, kernel updates, and lifecycle management.
• Manage users, groups, sudo policies, file systems, disk partitions, LVM, and NFS mounts.
• Configure system services, cron jobs, log rotation, and performance tuning (CPU, memory, IO).
• Troubleshoot OS‑level issues including boot failures, resource exhaustion, and service crashes.

Web & Mobile Application Hosting

• Deploy, configure, and operate web and mobile backend applications hosted on Linux servers, VMs, containers, or managed platforms.
• Manage application servers and reverse proxies such as Nginx, Apache, Tomcat, and related runtime environments.
• Support hosting of REST APIs and mobile backend services ensuring availability, scalability, and low latency.
• Configure SSL/TLS certificates, domain mappings, load balancers, and environment-specific configuration.

Technical Skills

Cloud: AWS and/or GCP (deep hands‑on)
DevSecOps: Jenkins, GitHub/Gerrit, SonarQube/SAST, Vault, Trivy/Clair, OWASP practices
IaC: Terraform (advanced), Helm, Ansible
Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/ECS or GKE)
OS: Linux (mandatory), Windows (working knowledge)
Scripting: Shell & Python (mandatory)
Monitoring: ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace/Splunk
Database: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB (working knowledge)

3 years to 5.4 years

Industry Preferred
