We are currently seeking a Systems Administration Analyst to join our team in Coimbatore, Tamil Nādu (IN-TN), India (IN).

G6/ 7 – Storage & Backup Administrator (Senior /L2)

 

Role Summary

G6 engineers handle advanced troubleshooting for storage arrays and enterprise backup infrastructures. They act as senior L1 specialists, support outage situations, and validate changes performed by L2/L3.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on:
• Storage array performance degradation
• Disk failures, enclosure issues
• Multipathing and host-to-storage connectivity
• Replication failures (SnapMirror, SRDF, RecoverPoint, etc.)
• Analyze detailed logs from:
• Storage controllers
• Backup master/media servers
• Fabric switches (Brocade/Cisco)
• Validate complex changes (pre/post checks) in:
• LUN expansions
• Storage migrations
• Fabric zoning changes
• Backup catalog maintenance
• Troubleshoot complex backup failures:
• Catalog corruption
• Media/Tape library hardware issues
• VSS/agent failures (for client backups)
• Own incident communication during major storage/backup outages.
• Identify patterns of recurring failures and raise tickets (RCA inputs).
• Support DR drills (snapshot validation, restore tests).
• Contribute to SOP creation, optimization, and automation improvements.
• Mentor G4 & G5 engineers, ensuring quality of escalations.

 

Basic qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience in enterprise storage & backup ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of SAN fabrics, multipathing software, RAID groups, storage pools.
• Experience with major storage models (EMC, NetApp, HPE 3PAR/Nimble, IBM, Pure Storage).
• Strong backup tool knowledge (NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Avamar, TSM).
• Familiarity with CLI tools for storage and FC switches.
• Ability to interpret logs and perform root cause analysis.
