Tally Accountant

Job Description :

As an Accountant at Essex Engineers, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth financial operations and maintaining accurate records of the company. Your primary focus will be on managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting the business with timely financial insights. Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping:

• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions in the system

• Record purchase, sales, receipts, and payment entries on a daily basis

• Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices and vouchers

2. GST & Compliance:

• Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) on time

• Reconcile GST data with books and resolve mismatches

• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements

3. Receivables & Payables Management:

• Track customer outstanding and follow up for collections

• Manage vendor payments and reconcile supplier statements

• Maintain ageing reports and highlight critical pending items

4. Bank & Cash Management:

• Perform regular bank reconciliations

• Monitor cash flow and report discrepancies if any

• Handle petty cash and ensure proper tracking

5. MIS & Reporting:

• Prepare monthly reports such as P&L, outstanding statements, and expense reports

• Provide data and insights to support business decisions

• Assist in budgeting and cost control activities

6. Coordination & Support:

• Coordinate with sales and operations teams for billing and collections

• Support during audits by providing required documents and data

• Improve processes for better efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com or related field)

• 2–5 years of experience in accounting (preferably in the trading/distribution business)

• Knowledge of Tally or similar accounting software

• Good understanding of GST and basic taxation
