Job Description
- Job Title: CNC Turner & Programmer
- Department: Production / Manufacturing
- Location: [KUHA,AHMEDABAD,GUJARAT]
- Reports To: Production Manager / Shop Floor Supervisor
- Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner & Programmer to set up, program, operate, and maintain CNC turning machines for precision component manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of CNC programming, tooling selection, machine setup, and quality control to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
- Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC turning programs using G-code and M-code.
- Set up CNC lathe machines and perform machine calibration.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Operate CNC turning machines to manufacture components within specified tolerances.
- Conduct first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimize downtime.
- Monitor machine performance and suggest process improvements to enhance productivity.
- Maintain production records, tooling records, and inspection reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with quality, maintenance, and production teams for smooth operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic machine upkeep.
- Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, Production Engineering, or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in CNC Turning and Programming.
- Proficiency in CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or equivalent controls).
- Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, and Height Gauge.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with multi-axis CNC turning centers.
- Knowledge of CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidCAM, or Edgecam.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Production output and machine utilization.
- Program optimization and cycle time reduction.
- Product quality and rejection rates.
- Machine downtime reduction.
- Compliance with safety and quality standards.
