Job Summary

The Die and Mould Maker is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, repairing, maintaining, and modifying dies, moulds, jigs, fixtures, and precision tooling used in production. The role requires interpreting engineering drawings, operating conventional and CNC machines, ensuring dimensional accuracy, and maintaining high-quality standards to support efficient manufacturing operations.

• Key Responsibilities
• Manufacture new dies, moulds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling as per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Assemble, fit, and test dies and moulds to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment of existing dies and moulds.
• Operate conventional machines such as lathe, milling, surface grinder, cylindrical grinder, drilling, and EDM machines.
• Set up and operate CNC machines where required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Measure and inspect components using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
• Identify tooling defects and recommend corrective actions to improve tool life and production efficiency.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
• Maintain records of tool maintenance, repairs, modifications, and inspections.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Design, and Engineering teams to resolve tooling issues.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, 5S practices, and company quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tool room.
• Required Qualifications
• ITI/Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Machinist, Fitter, or a related technical discipline.
• Certification in Tool & Die Making is preferred.
• Experience2–8 years of experience in die and mould manufacturing, maintenance, or tool room operations.
• Experience in automotive, plastics, sheet metal, or precision engineering industries is preferred.
• Required Skills
• Strong knowledge of die and mould construction and maintenance.
• Proficiency in conventional machining and precision fitting.
• Basic knowledge of CNC machining, EDM, wire-cut EDM, and CAD/CAM is an advantage.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
• Knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, and surface finishing.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
