Barista

Role Overview

We're looking for a skilled and energetic Barista to run our coffee counter and be the face of Snowy Owl at retail — someone who can craft quality coffee, serve gelato, and represent our brand with warmth and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages (cappuccino, latte, americano, cold coffee, etc.) to consistent quality and presentation standards
• Operate and maintain the espresso machine, grinder, and other coffee equipment
• Understand coffee basics — extraction, milk texturing/latte art, dosing, and cleaning routines
• Prepare and serve gelato/sorbet scoops alongside coffee offerings
• Handle billing, POS operations, and cash/card transactions accurately
• Greet and serve customers with a friendly, welcoming attitude; upsell menu items and seasonal offers
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene at the counter, coffee station, kitchen, and seating areas (housekeeping)
• Manage stock levels, storage, and freezer handling for ice cream/gelato products
• Support catering and event setups when required (on-site and off-site)
• Coordinate with team members and shift supervisor for smooth store operations

Desired Candidate Profile

• Prior experience as a barista or in a coffee shop/café strongly preferred — knowledge of espresso machines, coffee brewing methods, and milk texturing is a big plus
• Additional experience in an ice cream parlour, catering, store operations, or housekeeping is a plus
• Strong communication and customer handling skills
• Basic billing/POS knowledge (training provided)
• Well-groomed, punctual, and a team player
• Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
