Job Description

Role overview

We are looking for a passionate and target‑oriented Study Abroad Counsellor (2–4 years’ experience) to join our Nehru Place, Delhi office. You will guide students and parents on overseas education options, handle the complete application and visa cycle, and ensure students have a smooth journey from first enquiry to visa approval.

Key responsibilities

  • Counsel walk‑in, call‑in and online leads on study abroad options (countries, courses, universities) based on their academic profile, budget and career goals.
  • Conduct detailed counselling sessions, understand student requirements, and recommend suitable universities, courses and intakes.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end admission process: shortlist options, explain entry requirements, prepare application checklists, and support students in filling forms and preparing SOPs, LORs and other documents.
  • Coordinate with internal application/processing teams and with universities or partners for offers, conditional offers and other updates.
  • Guide students and parents on visa documentation, financials and interview preparation, in coordination with the visa team.
  • Maintain regular follow‑up via calls, WhatsApp and emails to convert enquiries into applications, and applications into confirmed admissions.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly counselling and revenue targets while maintaining high student satisfaction. Inside‑sales orientation is standard for senior education counsellor roles.
  • Conduct or support seminars, webinars and info sessions for students and parents, both in‑centre and online.
  • Keep yourself updated on admission requirements, program changes, scholarships, visa rules and international education trends for key destinations.
  • Accurately update and manage student data, pipeline and follow‑ups in the CRM and reporting sheets.

Key expertise and skills required

  • Experience: 2–4 years in study abroad counselling, overseas education, academic counselling or education inside‑sales. Similar roles typically involve counselling students, reviewing applications and supporting pre‑departure preparation.
  • Counselling & communication:
  • Strong listening skills, ability to understand student needs and aspirations.
  • Excellent verbal communication in Hindi and English; comfortable explaining complex procedures in simple language.
  • Sales & conversion ability:
  • Proven track record of converting leads to admissions / fee‑paying students.
  • Comfortable with calling, follow‑ups, handling objections and working with monthly targets, which are core expectations in senior education counsellor roles.
  • Process & documentation knowledge:
  • Practical understanding of admission and visa processes for at least one major destination (e.g., Canada/UK/USA/Australia).
  • Ability to guide students on documentation, timelines and compliance.
  • Tech and CRM comfort:
  • Hands‑on with CRM or lead‑management tools, WhatsApp marketing tools, Google Sheets/Excel and email.

People skills:

  • High empathy and patience while dealing with students and parents, yet firm enough to drive decisions and timelines.

Organization & ownership:

  • Strong time management, ability to handle multiple applications simultaneously and follow through till visa and enrolment.

Desired profile

  • Graduate in any stream; degrees in Education, Management, Psychology or related fields are a plus.
  • Prior experience with a study‑abroad consultancy, coaching institute, ed‑tech or university/institute counselling desk is preferred.
  • Comfortable working from the Nehru Place office, including handling walk‑ins and occasional weekend events (weekly off as per company policy)
