BOQ ENGINEER

Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented BOQ (Bill of Quantities) Surveyor to join our team in India. As a BOQ Surveyor, you will play a critical role in accurately quantifying and estimating the materials, labor, and costs required for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed BOQs and cost estimates.

·        Quantify and take-off materials, equipment, and labor requirements based on project specifications and design documents.

·        Conduct site visits to gather information, assess existing conditions, and verify quantities for accurate cost estimation.

·        Research and analyze market rates for materials, labor, and equipment to ensure realistic and competitive pricing.

·        Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and resolve any discrepancies.

·        Prepare accurate and comprehensive BOQ reports, including item descriptions, quantities, unit rates, and total costs.

·        Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and pricing information for inclusion in the BOQs.

·        Assist in evaluating and comparing bids from contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with BOQ specifications.

·        Monitor project progress and provide regular updates on any changes or variations in quantities or costs.

·        Maintain proper documentation and records related to BOQs, cost estimates, and project-related correspondence.

·        Stay updated with industry trends, construction methodologies, and pricing fluctuations for relevant materials and labor.

Eligibility:

·        Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

·        Proven experience as a BOQ Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry in India.

·        Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and cost estimation techniques.

·        Proficiency in using software tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, or dedicated BOQ software.

·        Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and contractors.

·        Ability to interpret project plans and specifications and accurately quantify and estimate quantities and costs.

·        Familiarity with Indian construction standards, regulations, and procurement procedures.

·        Knowledge of cost control and project management principles is advantageous.

·        Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
