We are looking for a practical and detail-oriented Interior Designer cum Draftsman who can manage both creative design work and technical drafting work for our construction and interior projects.

Role Summary

The candidate will be responsible for creating interior design concepts, furniture layouts, working drawings, AutoCAD drawings, execution drawings, material specifications, and site coordination. The person should understand both design aesthetics and practical site execution.

This role is ideal for someone who can convert client requirements into clear design plans and also prepare accurate drawings that vendors, carpenters, contractors, electricians, plumbers, and site teams can follow without confusion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Interior Design Work

• Understand client requirements, lifestyle, budget, space usage, and design preferences.
• Prepare interior design concepts for residential and commercial spaces.
• Create furniture layouts, space planning, mood boards, material palettes, and design presentations.
• Suggest finishes, laminates, veneers, tiles, paints, wallpapers, lighting, furniture, hardware, sanitary fittings, and décor elements.
• Coordinate with clients for design approvals and revisions.
• Ensure design is practical, premium, functional, and aligned with KONSTRUCT AND LIVE’s quality standards.

2. Drafting & Working Drawings

• Prepare accurate AutoCAD drawings for interior and construction projects.
• Create 2D layouts, furniture plans, electrical layouts, false ceiling plans, flooring layouts, wall elevations, sections, and detailed execution drawings.
• Prepare modular kitchen drawings, wardrobe drawings, TV unit drawings, vanity drawings, paneling details, and furniture details.
• Create civil drawings where required, including basic floor plans, site layouts, partition plans, and measurement drawings.
• Ensure all drawings are clear, dimensioned, and execution-ready.
• Maintain proper drawing versions and revision records.

3. Site Measurement & Coordination

• Visit sites for measurements, design understanding, and execution checks.
• Take accurate site measurements and convert them into AutoCAD base drawings.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, and vendors.
• Resolve drawing-related issues during execution.
• Check whether site work is being done as per approved drawings and quality standards.
• Report design deviations, execution mistakes, or measurement mismatches to the senior team.

4. Vendor & Material Coordination

• Coordinate with vendors for quotations, samples, material selection, and technical details.
• Prepare BOQ inputs for interiors, furniture, loose furniture, lighting, and finishes.
• Help compare vendor quotations based on specification, quality, and cost.
• Ensure materials selected are aligned with the approved design and client budget.

5. Documentation & Process

• Maintain project-wise design files, AutoCAD files, PDFs, material sheets, and client approval records.
• Prepare drawing checklists before issuing drawings to the site.
• Maintain proper naming and version control of all drawings.
• Support the team in creating standard design templates, execution details, and quality checklists.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Good understanding of interior design, furniture detailing, and space planning.
• Knowledge of materials such as plywood, laminate, veneer, MDF, HDHMR, glass, hardware, tiles, marble, paint, wallpaper, lighting, and sanitary fittings.
• Ability to prepare detailed execution drawings.
• Basic knowledge of site execution and practical construction/interior work.
• Good communication skills for client, vendor, and site coordination.
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple projects.
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong measurement and drawing accuracy.

Software Skills

Mandatory:

• AutoCAD
• MS Excel / Google Sheets
• PowerPoint / Canva for basic presentations

Preferred:

• SketchUp
• V-Ray / Enscape
• Photoshop
• 3ds Max
• Revit
• Any BOQ or project management software

Qualification

• Diploma / Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Drafting, or related field.
• Candidates with strong practical experience may also apply even if formal qualification is limited.

Salary Structure

Salary will depend on experience, software skills, execution knowledge, and design maturity.

Suggested range:

• Junior Interior Designer cum Draftsman: ₹18,000 – ₹25,000 per month
• Mid-level Interior Designer cum Draftsman: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month
• Strong candidate with site + design + drafting knowledge: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month

Incentive or project-based bonus may be offered based on performance, project delivery, client satisfaction, and error-free execution.
