Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Budgeting

● Develop comprehensive project execution plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies for multiple concurrent projects.

● Prepare, review, and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, cash flow forecasting, and ongoing financial monitoring to prevent cost overruns.

● Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments during the initial planning phases.

2. Liaison & Regulatory Compliance

● Serve as the primary point of contact for interactions with government departments, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.

● Manage all necessary permit applications, environmental clearances, and legal approvals to ensure full regulatory compliance.

● Represent the organization in meetings with stakeholders, consultants, and public officials to facilitate project approvals.

3. Project Execution & Quality Oversight

● Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to engineering designs, technical specifications, and safety protocols.

● Implement and maintain rigorous Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) standards across all project sites.

● Monitor project progress against master schedules, identifying potential bottlenecks early and implementing corrective actions.

4. Team Leadership & Coordination

● Coordinate and provide technical leadership to site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.

● Facilitate seamless communication between site teams and the management office to

ensure alignment on project goals.

● Conduct regular site audits to evaluate performance, workmanship, and safety compliance.

5. Reporting

● Provide regular, detailed progress reports to senior management, highlighting project milestones, financial status, and high-level issues requiring intervention.

Required Qualifications

● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree or professional certification is preferred).

● Experience: [Number, e.g., 8-12]+ years of progressive experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.

● Technical Skills: * Expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).

○ Proficiency in reading complex structural drawings and site layouts.

○ Strong understanding of local building codes, contract law, and government tendering processes.

● Soft Skills:

○ Exceptional negotiation and liaison skills, specifically regarding government and bureaucratic processes.

○ Ability to manage high-pressure environments and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

○ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse teams.
