Senior Sales Engineer -DepartmentSales & Business Development-Reporting To DIR /CEO/COO
Responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and achieving sales targets for industrial electrical and automation products. The role combines technical expertise with consultative selling to provide customers with reliable and cost-effective solutions.
- Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentAchieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Identify and develop new customers in industrial sectors.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key accounts.
- Generate enquiries through regular customer visits and networking.
- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals and negotiate contracts.
- Follow up quotations until order finalization.
- Prepare sales forecasts and market development plans.
- Technical ResponsibilitiesUnderstand customer applications and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Coordinate with the engineering team for solution design.
- Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
- Assist customers during technical discussions and product selection.
- Support commissioning or troubleshooting when required.
- Customer Relationship ManagementMaintain regular communication with customers.
- Resolve customer issues in coordination with service and technical teams.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
- Develop strategic partnerships with consultants, OEMs, EPC contractors, and system integrators.
- Market DevelopmentMonitor competitors' products, pricing, and market activities.
- Identify new market opportunities and emerging industries.
- Promote new technologies and product launches.
- Participate in exhibitions, seminars, and technical events.
- Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate CRM records.
- Submit daily visit reports and weekly sales reports.
- Prepare sales forecasts and pipeline updates.
- Ensure timely collection of payments from customers.
- Coordinate internally for order execution and customer support.
Products & SolutionsThe candidate should preferably have experience in one or more of the following:
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Soft Starters
- PLC, HMI & SCADA Systems
- Servo Drives & Motion Control
- Industrial Automation Systems
- LT Panels (PCC, MCC, VFD Panels)
- Active Harmonic Filters
- Industrial Networking & IIoT Solutions
- Motors and Industrial Electrical Equipment
- QualificationDiploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- MBA (Marketing) is an added advantage.
- Experience5–10 years of industrial sales experience.
- Experience in industrial automation, drives, electrical products, or control systems preferred.
- Required SkillsStrong technical aptitude.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Consultative selling and negotiation skills.
- Customer relationship management.
- CRM software proficiency.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
