Collection/Recovery Manager

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Loan Recovery & Collections:

• Manage and monitor overdue accounts to ensure timely recovery.
• Develop and implement effective recovery strategies for different customer categories.
• Follow up with customers through calls, emails, field visits (if required), and legal escalation where necessary.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of recovery actions and customer interactions.

2. Team & Process Management :

• Lead, train, and supervise the recovery team to achieve monthly and quarterly targets.
• Allocate accounts to recovery agents based on priority and risk profile.
• Review daily performance reports and provide guidance to improve productivity.

3. Customer Handling & Conflict Resolution:

• Engage with default customers professionally to negotiate payment plans.
• Address customer concerns, disputes, or grievances related to overdue amounts.
• Ensure all communication aligns with company guidelines and regulatory standards.

4. Reporting & Compliance:

• Prepare regular MIS reports on collections, outstanding amounts, and team performance.
• Highlight risk patterns, fraud indicators, and chronic defaulters to management.
• Ensure adherence to RBI/NBFC regulations, fair practices code, and internal compliance policies.

5. Coordination With Internal Teams:

• Work closely with Credit, Legal, Operations, and Customer Support teams to streamline recovery efforts.
• Support legal teams in initiating legal notices, arbitration, or other legal recovery actions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (MBA or Finance background preferred).
• 1 Year to 2 year of experience in loan recovery/collections within NBFC, banking, or fin-tech sectors.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle difficult conversations and manage high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of recovery laws, collections guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and CRM systems.
