Job Description
Job Title: School Receptionist
Job Summary: The School Receptionist is the first point of contact for parents, students, visitors, and staff. The receptionist is responsible for managing the front desk, handling inquiries, maintaining records, coordinating communication, and ensuring smooth day-to-day administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist parents, students, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and WhatsApp inquiries.
- Maintain the visitor register and ensure visitor protocols are followed.
- Provide information about admissions, fee structure, school timings, and other school policies.
- Coordinate admission inquiries and maintain admission records.
- Manage student attendance records and maintain school registers.
- Prepare and maintain files, documents, and office records.
- Issue transfer certificates, bonafide certificates, and other school documents as directed.
- Coordinate with teachers and management regarding student and parent communication.
- Handle courier, postal mail, and document dispatch.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and school records.
- Assist in organizing school events, meetings, and PTMs.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Perform other administrative duties assigned by the Principal or School Management.
Required QualificationsGraduate in any discipline (B.A., B.Com., or B.Sc.) from a recognized university.
- Diploma or certification in Computer Applications is preferred.
- Skills RequiredExcellent communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Good telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace is an added advantage.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of school administration and admissions is preferred.
Experience1–3 years of experience as a receptionist, front office executive, or administrative assistant.
- Experience in a school or educational institution will be preferred.
- Working HoursAs per the school's official working hours.
- Additional hours may be required during admissions, examinations, PTMs, and school events.
- Preferred CandidateFemale candidate preferred (if applicable to your school's hiring policy).
- Candidates residing within 10 km of the school will be given preference.
