Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced CNC Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) Operator capable of independently operating a 5-meter CNC VTL for machining large-diameter components. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of CNC machining practices, tooling, measurement techniques, and machine maintenance while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor 5-meter CNC Vertical Turning Lathe.
- Set up workpieces, fixtures, jaws, and tooling according to job requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and machining process sheets.
- Load CNC programs and perform basic program editing when required.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and optimize machining parameters.
- Machine large rings, slewing bearing components, gear blanks, and heavy fabricated parts within specified tolerances.
- Perform in-process inspection using measuring instruments.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and quality standards are achieved.
- Coordinate with production engineers, quality inspectors, and maintenance teams.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Follow safety procedures while handling heavy components using cranes and lifting equipment.
- Record production data and report any machining or quality issues promptly.
