Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Role Definition

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer who can take ownership of software quality across the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and be capable of working closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web applications and APIs.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate REST APIs using tools such as Postman or similar API testing frameworks.
• Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and release documentation.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests into the deployment process.
• Perform basic database validation by writing SQL queries to verify data integrity and application behavior.
• Assess application security from a QA perspective by identifying common vulnerabilities, validating security controls, and reporting potential risks.
• Conduct basic vulnerability assessments using standard tools and verify remediation of identified issues.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce, prioritize, and validate bug fixes.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills:

• Experience with QA automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar).
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and SDLC/STLC.
• Good knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with API testing and API automation. Proficiency in SQL and basic database concepts for data validation.
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10, common application security vulnerabilities, and basic database security concepts.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools and security testing techniques is preferred.
• Strong documentation skills, including preparation of test strategies, test cases, defect reports, and release notes.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

The ideal candidate should be capable of balancing test automation, manual testing, API validation, documentation, and basic security validation to ensure the delivery of high-quality and secure software.
