Job Description
As a luxury watch sales professional (often called a Watch Specialist or Client Advisor) you would be responsible for providing a high-end, consultative experience to affluent clientele. The role goes beyond simple transactions, focusing on storytelling, technical expertise, and long-term relationship building.
Core Responsibilities
- Consultative Sales: Conduct personalized consultations to understand client needs, style preferences, and investment goals.
- Technical Storytelling: Educate clients on watch features, mechanical complications (e.g., tourbillons, chronographs), brand heritage, and craftsmanship.
- Clienteling & CRM: Maintain a detailed client book using CRM software to track preferences, celebrate milestones, and drive repeat business.
- Boutique Standards: Ensure the sales floor and display cases meet strict visual merchandising standards for luxury presentation.
- After-Sales Service: Assist with repairs, strap adjustments, battery replacements, and water-resistance testing.
- Event Participation: Support exclusive in-store events, trunk shows, and VIP product unveilings. Indeed +10
Key Skills & Requirements
- Experience: Typically 2–5 years in high-end retail, preferably in watches, jewellery, or premium fashion.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain elegant conversations and handle high-pressure environments.
- Knowledge: Deep passion for horology and familiarity with prestigious brands like Seiko, Versace, BALMAIN, Movado, Fossil, Armani, etc.
- Operations: Proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) systems and basic math for handling high-value transactions and inventory.
- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's in Marketing or related field is often preferred.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
Success in this role is typically measured by:
- Average Transaction Value (ATV): The average amount spent per sale, driven by upselling to premium models or accessories.
- Conversion Rate: The percentage of boutique visitors who complete a purchase.
- Client Retention Rate: Success in building a loyal base that returns for future purchases or servicing.
- Sales Target Attainment: Consistently meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly revenue quotas.
