Executes the M&A sales strategy within defined markets in collaboration with market/client development and Mercer's other businesses. Establishes and maintains appropriate market contacts to ensure awareness of market and client issues. Interacts with financial and HR executives, C-Suite members (ie. CEO, COO, CFO) and other members of the business community. Develops one-on-one relationships with clients and prospects to match their challenges with Mercer solutions, leading to cross-LOB sales and revenue.
Leads client engagements, with accountability for revenue and profitability of client accounts and projects.
Determines the full scope of services provided to the client and sets roles and responsibilities within the client team.Oversees the work of M&A consultants, M&A coordinators and/or M&A project managers, ensuring the team is within budget, on time and producing work consistent with client expectations.Clarifies and resolves unique and difficult issues related to client deliverables.
Hires, manages, develops and evaluates a team of professionals.Identifies and secures project resources ensuring work is leveraged to the right skill and career level, and provides development opportunities for team members.
Contributes to initiatives within the M&A business as assigned; develops and shares new M&A intellectual capital and marketing material; prepares periodic reports and analyses used to plan and manage the M&A consulting services business; assures personal and team compliance with M&A policies and procedures. Contributes to Mercer's M&A market presense by writing articles, case studies and general marketing material in addition to public speaking.
Serves as senior strategic M&A advisor to the client during engagements to ensure the client's business objectives are supported by people practices.
