Job Description

Engineer 3 - Business Systems

MongoDB is seeking an Engineer III in the HR Tech team who will serve as a key technical resource for our HR systems landscape, with a primary focus on integrating SAP SuccessFactors with third-party applications using middleware. This role will partner closely with HR, IT, security, and business stakeholders to design, build, enhance, and support scalable, secure, and reliable integrations that improve employee and business processes.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of HR technology, system integrations, and SuccessFactors, and is comfortable translating business requirements into technical solutions that are scalable, supportable, and business-impacting. This expectation aligns with the source role’s emphasis on being a trusted resource, understanding processes and data limitations, and transforming them into actionable solutions.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurugram for our hybrid working model.

Shift: 6 PM - 2 AM IST

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and support integrations between SuccessFactors and external applications using middleware, good to have Workato knowledge
  • Partner with HR Tech, HR business stakeholders, and enterprise systems teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical integration designs and scalable solutions
  • Develop and maintain integration flows, APIs, middleware mappings, file-based interfaces, and error-handling mechanisms across upstream and downstream systems
  • Monitor and support day-to-day production integrations, troubleshoot issues, resolve defects, and drive root-cause analysis for recurring problems, consistent with the source role’s expectation to provide day-to-day production support and resolve system-related issues
  • Collaborate on company-wide HR systems initiatives and enhancements, helping evaluate current-state architecture and recommend improvements that automate and scale business processes
  • Conduct and coordinate testing for integration changes, new business requirements, platform releases, and system upgrades
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, integration design specifications, support procedures, and knowledge articles for ongoing administration and support
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to submit, track, and resolve platform or integration-related issues and enhancements
  • Ensure appropriate controls around data flow, permissions, monitoring, and operational reliability across integrated HR systems, building on the source role’s focus on workflow, functionality, and permissions monitoring
  • Act as a technical consultant to stakeholders by explaining tradeoffs, solution options, and best practices for HR systems integration and related platform capabilities, reflecting the consultative stakeholder partnership expected in the source role

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in HRIS, HR technology, or enterprise application integration, with hands-on experience in SAP SuccessFactors
  • Strong experience integrating SuccessFactors with third-party applications using middleware, good to have Workato knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of at least one additional SuccessFactors module beyond the primary integration focus; examples may include Employee Central, Onboarding 2.0, Performance, or similar modules
  • Ability to independently assess current system and integration configurations and identify opportunities for improvement, aligned with the source role’s expectation for independent assessment and process improvement
  • Experience with reporting, data management, and data validation tools, and a strong understanding of HR data and process dependencies across systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts and solution recommendations to varied audiences
  • Experience creating proofs of concept, prototypes, or technical solution options for stakeholder review is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field preferred
  • SuccessFactors certifications and/or middleware certifications are a plus

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working with global stakeholders across regions and time zones in a client-facing or consultative capacity
  • Passion for process improvement, operational excellence, and data integrity in HR systems environments
  • A mindset focused on building secure, reusable, and maintainable technical solutions that improve employee and business outcomes
