About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / PMO with a strong background in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) / FMCG industry. The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business requirements into actionable specifications while also managing project governance, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. 

This role requires deep understanding of CPG business processes, familiarity with syndicated data sources (Nielsen, Kantar), and experience working with e-commerce data from platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. 

Business Analysis: 

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand, document, and prioritize business requirements for data and analytics initiatives. 

• Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. 

• Conduct gap analysis between current state and desired future state capabilities. 

• Define and document KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements aligned with CPG business objectives. 

• Analyze and interpret data from syndicated sources (Nielsen, Kantar) and e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Flipkart) to derive actionable insights. 

• Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure accurate implementation of business logic. 

• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate deliverables against business requirements. 

• Provide inputs for wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for reports and dashboards. 

PMO / Project Management: 

• Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including status reporting, RAID logs, and decision registers. 

• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resource allocation. 

• Track project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies; proactively identify and mitigate risks. 

• Coordinate cross-functional teams and facilitate workshops, stand-ups, and steering committee meetings. 

• Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to leadership. 

• Manage stakeholder communication and ensure alignment across business and IT teams. 

• Drive adherence to project management best practices and methodologies (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid). 

• Support change management activities and ensure smooth adoption of new solutions. 

Mandatory skill sets: 

Required Skills: 

Domain Expertise: 

• 7-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, PMO, or similar role in the CPG / FMCG industry. 

• Strong understanding of CPG business processes including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Trade Promotions, and Category Management. 

• Hands-on experience working with syndicated data sources: 

• Nielsen (Retail Measurement Services, Consumer Panel Data) 

• Kantar (Worldpanel, Brand Health Tracking) 

• Experience working with e-commerce data from platforms such as: 

• Amazon (Vendor Central, Seller Central, Amazon Marketing Cloud) 

• Flipkart (Seller Hub, Flipkart Ads) 

• Familiarity with Modern Trade, General Trade, and D2C channel analytics. 

Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and validation. 

• Experience with BI/Visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar. 

• Familiarity with data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric) is a plus. 

• Strong proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis). 

• Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet. 

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling basics.

Preferred skill sets: 

• MBA or equivalent degree in Marketing, Operations, or Business Management from a reputed institution. 

• Prior experience in consulting firms (Big 4, IT/Analytics consulting) serving CPG clients. 

• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools.
