Job Description

Job Description

As our new Principal Designer - BIM, Mechanical, REC you will be part of a world-class, innovation-driven engineering design center owned by an independent trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and is based in our India head office in Gurgaon. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a center for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Design of 2D/3D Mechanical drawings with input from designers
  • Design of relevant 2D models for different infrastructure projects
  • Sizing of HVAC ducts and Pipe along with routing.
  • Space Planning of HVAC, PHE and Fire Equipment’s.
  • Co-ordination with other disciplines.
  • Modelling of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Fighting Service.
  • Provide BIM modeling and design support
  • Coordinate and manage Revit models
  • Create Revit families blocks.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy
  • Use checklists set-up for quality control on each project and submit work according to deadlines.
  • Possess a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrate proactive approach to learning new digital design tools

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in design of Mechanical drawings and or models for infrastructure projects, such as road/rail, tunnels, bridges and metros.
  • Strong knowledge of international and national design codes and standards
  • Experience managing full project cycles, with strong knowledge of different design stages including concept, preliminary, tender, and detailed design, along with preparation of related technical documentation such as design reports and related 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Assisting in the creation of BIM deliverables, Model Federation, Clash Detection Reports, BIM Quality Control Plans, BIM Design Review Procedures and Construction Sequencing (4D).
  • Attending meetings with client and third parties and assisting the BIM Leads in presentation and navigation throughout the BIM Models.
  • Assisting and supporting in analysis/implementation of BIM execution plans for BIM deliverables production.
  • Facilitate use of composite design models in design coordination/clash detection meetings and provide clash detection reports by the identification and resolution of all hard and soft collisions.
  • Experienced in interdisciplinary coordination with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and civil teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP-systems.
  • Experienced in performing technical reviews of design documents, equipment specifications, and compliance checks with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management experience with clients, contractors, and authorities.
  • Ability to provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
