About the role:  

Gartner is seeking a well-rounded and motivated application Developer for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a range of iOS and Android devices including mobile phones and tablet computers.  This role will be part of Gartner’s Digital Product Technology, which is responsible for all client-facing applications across web and mobile channels, as the primary means of delivering insights to our clients on their mission-critical priorities. This role demands a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of innovative solutions. 

 

What you will do: 

• Understand Gartner’s domain, business model and work with business stakeholders to achieve objectives and goals by contributing to the development of a world class client experience. 

• Design and build applications for the Android platform. 

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. 

• Collaborate within the team to ship new features. 

• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. 

• Help maintain code quality and automation. 

• Work proactively in a fast-paced dynamic environment 

• Owns success – Take responsibility for successful delivery of high quality and innovative mobile features. 

 

What you will need  

 

Strong IT professional with 2-4 yrs of experience in Android application development using Java or Kotlin. The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills along with high on ownership and accountability.  

 

Must have 

 

• Total experience of 2-4 Years in android application development using Java or Kotlin. 

•  Excellent problem solving & analytical skills. 

•  Experience of integration with REST/SOAP based web services. 

• Experience working with Retrofit, Push Notifications, Gradle, and Dependency Injection frameworks (Dagger/Hilt) 

• Exposure to modern android application architecture and libraries. 

• Extensive knowledge of android architecture and framework and understanding of Android Components (Activity, Fragments, Broadcast receivers, Content providers, Services etc.).   

• Knowledge of Jetpack compose. 

• Hands‑on experience with local data storage solutions including SQLite, Room, and SharedPreferences, along with secure data handling practices 

• Solid understanding and implementation experience in asynchronous programming and multithreading, including Kotlin Coroutines and Flow 

• Well versed with the nuances of application debugging and unit testing. 

• Proficient in code versioning tools such as Git/GitHub/Bitbucket. 

• Knowledge of Android build system. 

• Excellent understanding on OOPS concepts and knowledge of Design Patterns. 

• Good knowledge on SDLC and Agile Methodologies. 

• Able to communicate clearly and excellently with a wide variety of people / functions and in a wide variety of formats (verbally, in writing, etc.) 

 

Good to have  

• Should have deep understanding of material design. 

• Should be able to understand functional requirements and come up with application design. 

• Strong object-oriented design skills including design patterns, data structures, test driven development. 

• Good Awareness with AI code‑assist tools and ability to use them effectively for efficient and high‑quality Android development 

• Knowledge of Firebase.

• Graduate/Post graduate in BE/Btech, ME/MTech or MCA is preferred.  

• Excellent communication and prioritization skills. 

• Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment. 

• Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions. 

• Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks, and technologies.
