Transportation Specialist - Logistics and Supply Chain

Job Purpose and Impact

Transportation Specialist is a key role for Agriculture & Trading India, responsible for planning, coordinating, and improving the movement of Inventory through road and/or railcar managing transportation activities. Ensure efficient, safe, cost-effective, and compliant movement of commodity. Analyze transportation needs, coordinate with carriers and stakeholders, monitor performance, and implement process improvements.

Key Accountabilities

• Onboard and manage transportation service providers, carriers, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
• Plan and coordinate transportation operations and schedules in co-ordination with commercial team.
• Monitor shipments, deliveries, and transportation performance. Address transportation issues and resolve delays or service issues.
• Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency & reduce cost.
• Ensure Commodity is handling loss during transportation is within agreed tolerance.
• Prepare transportation reports, metrics, & documentation and circulate timely with stakeholders.
• Ensure data collection, compilation & update in system within agreed timeline
• Optimize routes and transportation networks for efficiency.
• Support transportation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management and / or relevant experience.
• 5+ years of Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or fleet management in Agri commodity industry. Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
