Job description

1. Financial Reporting

Preparation of Financial Statements: Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Reports: Ensure timely preparation and presentation of financial reports to management and stakeholders.

2. Accounting Operations

General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger accounts.

Account Reconciliation: Ensure that bank and account reconciliations are completed accurately and promptly.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting

Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Variance Analysis: Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted figures and provide insights for corrective actions.

4. Compliance and Control

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations, including tax regulations.

Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

5. Financial Analysis

Cost Analysis: Perform cost analysis and support cost control initiatives.

Financial Planning: Provide financial analysis and support for strategic planning and decision-making.

6. Audit and Assurance

Audit Preparation: Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for audits.

Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

7. Team Management

Supervision: Manage and mentor accounting staff, including assigning tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations.

Resource Allocation: Ensure adequate staffing and resources to meet accounting department needs.

8. Accounts Payable and Receivable

Invoice Processing: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.

Collections Management: Manage collections processes to ensure timely receipt of payments and minimize overdue accounts.

9. Cash Management

Cash Flow Monitoring: Monitor cash flow and ensure that sufficient funds are available for operational needs.

Bank Relationships: Manage banking relationships and negotiate terms for financial services.

10. Financial Systems and Technology

System Implementation: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency.

11. Reporting to Management

Financial Insights: Provide regular financial insights and analysis to senior management to support business decisions.

Special Projects: Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed by management.

12. Taxation

Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax filings and payments.

Tax Planning: Support tax planning strategies to optimize the companys tax position.
