Job Description
An Audit Assistant is an entry-level professional who supports the audit team in examining financial records, ensuring compliance, and assisting in the preparation of audit reports.Key ResponsibilitiesAudit Assistants perform a variety of tasks to support the audit process, including:
- Assisting senior auditors in planning, executing, and reporting audits of financial statements and internal controls
- Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating financial data to identify discrepancies, irregularities, or compliance issues
- Preparing audit documentation, workpapers, and schedules, and maintaining organized audit files
- Communicating audit findings and providing suggestions for process improvements to management and stakeholders
- Supporting the preparation of business and board reports, and ensuring adherence to data retention, safeguarding, and data protection policies
- Participating in meetings, training sessions, and occasionally conducting on-site audits staffordshire.gov.uk.
