About the RoleAs our first Brand Manager, you will hold the keys to the identity, presentation, and consumer perception of Southern Spice Kompany. Because we operate on a white-label model, our success relies entirely on our ability to build a powerful consumer brand, design irresistible packaging, and execute flawless market launches.
You will transition our core products,from traditional Kurukkuthurai mixture and premium banana chips to modern flavored nuts,from the manufacturer’s facility straight into the hearts (and shopping carts) of consumers. You will wear multiple hats, bridging the gap between product strategy, creative design, and sales execution.
- Core ResponsibilitiesBrand Identity & Positioning: Define the core story, voice, and visual guidelines for Southern Spice Kompany. Ensure a consistent brand experience across offline packaging, quick-commerce banners, and digital platforms.
- Packaging & Design Management: Lead the end-to-end development of product packaging. Collaborate with external design agencies or freelance designers to create compliant, structurally sound, and shelf-popping packet designs.
- Product Launch & GTM (Go-To-Market): Design and execute the launch strategy for new product lines. Determine product tiering, bundle options (e.g., festival gift boxes), and consumer sampling drives.
- Pricing & Margin Strategy: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to position our products correctly against traditional local players and modern premium snack brands.
- Vendor & Agency Coordination: Manage relationships with packaging printers, creative agencies, and freelance copywriters to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Consumer Insights: Spend time on the ground (retail stores, events) and analyze digital purchase data to understand what drives repeat purchases, and use those insights to tweak messaging or recommend new flavor profiles.
- What We Are Looking For (Requirements)Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in brand management or product marketing specifically within the FMCG, packaged food, or D2C snacking space.
- Regional Knowledge: A deep understanding of South Indian consumer preferences, snacking habits, and cultural nuances (especially regarding traditional flavor profiles like regional mixtures and banana chips).
- Project Management: Proven track record of taking a product from a concept/bulk sample stage to a fully packaged, retail-ready product.
- Compliance Awareness: Basic familiarity with FSSAI labeling guidelines, nutritional table requirements, and packaging declarations.
- Startup Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, self-driven, and excited about building a brand from absolute scratch without a massive corporate budget.
