Contractor - IBM I Series/AS400 Job

• The Programmer/RPG Developer is responsible for the design, development, deployment and implementation of secure code. They will also work with internal and external employees, clients and vendors, to drive out requirements on design and architecture needs of IBM Power Systems. In addition, the Programmer/RPG Developer will maintain code for existing applications and develop enhancements as required.

 

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, deploy and implement secure code with following industry approved coding practices from frameworks.
• Maintain code for existing applications and develop enhancements as required.
• Ability to handle Client requirement, creating design document and walk them with client.
• Technical proficiency in relevant languages and development tools required and knowledge on distributed processing is mandatory

Experience:

• Minimum of  5 years' work experience in a programmer or programmer/analyst position in an IBMi environment
• Knowledge of Health Care and Manufacture Domain.
• Ability to create Sub-procedures, JSON and Service Programs.
• Sound technical knowledge in Integrated Language Environment (ILE), free-format RPG, SQLRPGLE, Subfiles.
• Knowledge of software development and/or programming design and systems management(Aldon).
• Extensive experience with core software applications for the IBM iSeries.
• Experience on any EDI tools is an added advantage. 
• Experienced in iSeries Navigator and Integrated File System (IFS)

Knowledge of SEU, PDM, DFU and Spool files
