Job Description
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic presentation of all shared and common spaces within the commercial building property. This role manages a dedicated team of housekeeping staff to ensure that high-traffic public zones—including main lobbies, corridors, lifts, common washrooms, parking levels, and peripheral areas—remain immaculate, safe, and welcoming for corporate tenants and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Supervision & Workforce Allocation
- Shift Management: Create shift rosters, manage daily attendance, and deploy staff strategically across all common areas to handle peak foot-traffic hours effectively.
- On-Floor Inspections: Conduct continuous hourly rounds of the property to inspect cleaning quality, ensure deep-cleaning schedules are met, and verify that checklists are signed off.
- Toolbox Talks: Lead daily morning briefings on grooming standards, behavior around corporate tenants, and safety protocols.
2. Common Area Maintenance & Presentation
High-Traffic Zones: Ensure the main reception lobby, elevator cars, escalators, and central corridors are continuously wiped, buffed, and kept free of dust, footprints, or smudges.
- Common Washrooms: Supervise the continuous sanitization and dry-mopping of shared floor washrooms, ensuring continuous replenishment of essential consumables (soap, tissue, hand towels).
- External & Peripheral Spaces: Oversee the sweeping and maintenance of building entryways, pathways, smoking zones, cafeteria common seating, and basement parking lots.
- Spill Response: Rapidly coordinate the deployment of staff to handle sudden spills, weather-related water tracking, or glass smudges in public view.
3. Mechanized Cleaning & Material Safety
- Machinery Operations: Supervise the correct and safe use of heavy-duty cleaning equipment (e.g., single-disc floor scrubbers, ride-on sweepers for parking, wet/dry vacuums).
- Chemical & Inventory Management: Maintain strict control over cleaning chemicals and consumables. Ensure proper dilution ratios are followed and that "Wet Floor" safety signs are always prominently displayed during operations.
- Asset Care: Ensure all common area assets, premium wall claddings, and stone floorings (marble/granite) are cleaned using only approved, non-damaging agents.
4. Tenant Relations & Reporting
- Professional Conduct: Ensure the housekeeping team operates discreetly without obstructing the movement of corporate employees and visitors.
- Defect Reporting: Act as the eyes and ears of the facility; proactively report any fused lights, broken tiles, plumbing leaks, or safety hazards in common areas to the maintenance/engineering team.
- Documentation: Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning logs, machine maintenance records, and stock registers for facility audits.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in commercial facility management or hospitality, with at least 1–2 years as a Supervisor managing common areas in IT Parks, Premium Commercial Complexes, or Corporate Business Centers.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in mechanized cleaning processes, floor polishing/buffing techniques, and waste management systems.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and handle a large on-site janitorial crew.
- Languages: Fluent in spoken Telugu and Hindi; basic written and verbal English skills are required for handling checklists and reporting to the Property Manager.
