Project Intake :

Analyze 3D renders, ceiling plans, furniture layouts, HVAC drawings

Concept Development:

Define lighting layers (ambient, task, accent)

Decide beam angles, lux levels, color temperature

Layout Design:

Create lighting layouts in AutoCAD

Ensure alignment with ceiling, furniture, HVAC

Fixture Specification:

Select fixtures from catalogue

Define wattage, lumens, beam angle, IP rating

Perform lux level calculations using Dialux/Relux

Documentation:

Prepare lighting layout plans

Create fixture legend and schedules

Prepare BOQ-ready documentation

Coordination:

Coordinate with internal teams for revisions

Incorporate feedback and budget constraints

Feasibility Check:

Detect clashes with HVAC, beams, ceiling depth

Ensure installability and maintenance access

Standardization:

Maintain consistent design standards

Product Knowledge:

Stay updated with product specs and innovations

File Management:

Maintain organized project folders and version control

Quality Control:

Verify drawing accuracy and fixture counts

Ensure alignment with architecture and avoid overdesign

Skills Required:

AutoCAD Proficiency , Ability to create clean, layered, precise lighting layouts

Lighting Planning, Fixture spacing, beam angle logic, lighting layers

2D to 3D Visualization, Ability to visualize lighting outcome from plans

Dialux/Relux , Working knowledge for lighting calculations

Lux Level Understanding, Knowledge of application-based lighting levels

Beam & Glare Control, Understanding beam angles and glare reduction

Color Temperature Strategy, Selecting appropriate CCT for spaces

Drawing Interpretation , Reading RCP, HVAC, and architectural drawings

Clash Detection, Identifying conflicts early

Layout & BOQ Creation, Prepare clear layouts and BOQ-ready documents

Knowledge Required:

Lighting Fundamentals, Lumens, Lux, Watt, CRI understanding

Electrical Basics , Drivers, dimming systems, load basics

Ceiling Systems , Understanding false ceilings and mounting

Spatial Design, Understanding how spaces are used

Installation Awareness, Understanding real-world installation issues

Fixture Types, Understanding when to use which fixture
