• Primary skills:Technology->Mainframe Technologies->COBOL,Technology->Mainframe Technologies->JCL,Technology->Mainframe Technologies->Mainframe Technologies- ALL • Knowledge of more than one technology • Basics of Architecture and Design fundamentals • Knowledge of Testing tools • Knowledge of agile methodologies • Understanding of Project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects • Understanding of one or more Estimation methodologies, Knowledge of Quality processes • Basics of business domain to understand the business requirements • Analytical abilities, Strong Technical Skills, Good communication skills • Good understanding of the technology and domain • Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of software quality assurance principles, SOLID design principles and modelling methods • Awareness of latest technologies and trends • Excellent problem solving, analytical and debugging skills Key Responsibilities: • Lead end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of Mainframe-based applications using COBOL and related Mainframe utilities. • Analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and propose scalable Mainframe solutions aligned with enterprise standards. • Perform impact analysis, code changes, unit testing, and support system/integration testing for enhancements and defect fixes. • Optimize existing COBOL programs and Mainframe jobs for performance, reliability, and maintainability. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production releases, incident resolution, and root cause analysis for critical issues. • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and compliance requirements within the Mainframe environment. • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, job flows, and support guides. • Mentor junior team members, provide code reviews, and share Mainframe best practices to uplift overall team capability. • Participate in planning, estimation, and status reporting for Mainframe development and support activities. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, process optimization, and technical upgrades in the Mainframe landscape.
