Job Description
A Mutual Fund Advisor (also called a Mutual Fund Distributor or Investment Advisor, depending on licensing) helps individuals choose and manage mutual fund investments based on their financial goals and risk tolerance.
Main responsibilities
Understand a client's financial goals (retirement, education, wealth creation, etc.).
Assess the client's risk appetite.
Recommend suitable mutual funds.
Explain fund performance, risks, fees, and investment strategies.
Help clients invest through SIPs (Systematic Investment Plans) or lump-sum investments.
Review portfolios periodically and suggest changes when needed.
Build long-term relationships and acquire new clients.
Skills required
Strong knowledge of mutual funds and financial markets.
Good communication and sales skills.
Ability to build trust with clients.
Basic understanding of taxation and personal finance.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
