Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Release Manager specializing in Change Management to oversee and coordinate the deployment of technology solutions across multiple projects. This role involves managing release cycles, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and mitigating risks associated with change initiatives. The successful candidate will play a critical part in maintaining operational stability, improving deployment processes, and supporting continuous delivery in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Software Requirements
Required:
Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, ServiceNow, or equivalent
Familiarity with change management frameworks like ITIL or COBIT
Knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN, or equivalent)
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management best practices
Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and automated deployment tools
Preferred:
Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) platforms such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI
Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Overall Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate release planning, scheduling, and deployment activities across multiple projects and teams
Ensure release activities minimize disruption and are aligned with organizational policies and compliance standards
Manage change requests, assess risks, and communicate impact to stakeholders
Develop and maintain release governance frameworks, procedures, and documentation
Collaborate with development, QA, operations, and business teams to facilitate smooth releases and quick issue resolution
Monitor release processes, gather metrics, and identify areas for process optimization
Provide guidance on best practices for change management, deployment, and rollback procedures
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programing/Tools:
Required: Experience with version control systems (GIT, SVN), release automation tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash)
Preferred: Infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Databases/Data Management:
Basic understanding of data management practices relevant to deployment environments
Cloud Technologies:
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with understanding of deployment and configuration management
Frameworks and Libraries:
Not applicable; focus on release management tools and processes
Development Tools and Methodologies:
ITIL, COBIT, Agile, DevOps, SDLC, release planning, and scheduling tools
Security Protocols:
Understanding of change control procedures, security standards, and compliance protocols
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of experience in release management, change management, or software deployment in enterprise environments
Proven experience managing complex release cycles, including planning, testing, and deployment
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations
Experience in regulated industries such as banking, finance, or healthcare is a plus
Alternative experience includes senior project management roles with significant change/delivery responsibilities
Day-to-Day Activities
Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases and change initiatives according to project priorities
Manage change requests, evaluate impact, and communicate updates to stakeholders and management
Conduct risk assessments, manage rollback procedures, and document deployment activities
Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure release readiness
Monitor deployment processes, troubleshoot issues proactively, and implement improvement initiatives
Conduct post-release reviews, gather feedback, and refine release processes for efficiency and quality
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Extensive experience in change and release management, ideally within financial or technology sectors
Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, PMP, or equivalent are advantageous
Proven ability to manage multiple releases across diverse projects in fast-paced environments
