Within the x-one program, we are shifting our quality approach towards an embedded, highly automated engineering model. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on external Senior Test Automation Engineer who can bridge the gap between traditional QA and core software engineering.

This is a pure execution (hands-on) contract role for a technical heavyweight. You love writing test-code, diving deep into technical architectures, and setting up scalable automation ecosystems. While you remain fully focused on implementation and delivery, you will also play a pivotal role in supporting, training, and enabling less experienced QA colleagues to mature their automated testing capabilities.

    What will you do within the x-one program?

        Framework Architecture & Setup: Work on design, implementation, and scaling of robust, reusable test automation frameworks from the ground up.

        Advanced API & Integration Testing: Build and maintain automated end-to-end API test suites to validate data flows across our global domain services and local integration layers.

        Isolate Dependencies: Strategically design and implement mocks and stubs to bypass environment constraints, ensuring test pipelines run quickly and reliably without blocking dependencies.

        CI/CD Integration: Embed automated test execution seamlessly into the broader DevOps build and deployment pipelines for continuous, unattended regression testing.

        Hands-on Testing & Strategy: Design and execute complex functional, integration, and regression test scenarios based on risk assessments and architecture definitions.

        Team Support & Enablement: Partner closely with squad QA testers, providing hands-on coding support, reviewing automated components, and training them to become self-sustainable.

Who will you collaborate with?

        Reporting line: You will report directly to the Test Manager, working in close alignment with the Lead Automation Architect.

        Squad & Platform Teams: You will embed with cross-functional squads containing Business Analysts, Developers, and QA Testers to accelerate automated feature testing.

        DevOps & Middleware: Collaborate with the platform teams (GIS / Apigee / Boomi) to coordinate environment readiness, configuration testing, and pipeline execution.

What do you bring?

Must-have Requirements:

        Testing Mastery: Extensive hands-on experience in software quality assurance in a Salesforce environment, defining multi-level test approaches, and executing functional and regression activities in complex enterprise environments.

        Automation Expertise: A proven track record in end-to-end test automation engineering, optimizing regression tests, and driving continuous testing practices.

        Strong Programming Skills: Expert-level proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., writing modular, maintainable automation code, test libraries and utilities).

Should-have Requirements

        Java Proficiency: Deep experience with Java for test development and framework building.

        Framework Construction: Demonstrated experience building scalable automation frameworks from scratch rather than just maintaining existing scripts.

        API & Microservice Savvy: Deep experience with automated testing of REST APIs and navigating a microservices/domain services architecture (using libraries such as RestAssured or similar).

        Pipeline Engineering: Practical experience integrating automated suites into CI/CD pipelines for scheduled or trigger-based test execution.

        Advanced Coding Concepts: Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Spring) and mock/stub development platforms (e.g., WireMock, Mockito) to effectively virtualize missing components.

Languages: Fluent at writing and speaking in English (essential for navigating local integrations and global organizational alignment).
