Software Engineer III, AI and Infrastructure

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  
• Experience in Cloud computing, distributed computing, and high performance computing.
• Experience with C/C++, Java, Go, or Python programming languages, and with Unix/Linux systems.
• Experience within Cloud infrastructure, machine learning infrastructure, with compute, networking, and storage.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with a cloud provider, or other data center management stack.
• Experience as a software engineer, with knowledge of two or more of the following areas: APIs and services, front-end development, distributed systems, tools, testing infrastructure, and monitoring infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, with a focus on AI inference workloads.
• Interest in technical infrastructure projects that support distributed production systems.

The team's mission is to make the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) the best platform for AI and ML workloads. The team provides infrastructure and tools to design and set up AI/ML workloads. In this role, you will solve challenges and define solutions for GCP in shaping the future of AI and ML workload performance/experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and innovate on GPU/TPU ML infrastructure to support ML workloads for key customers.
• Lead and execute technical projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and engage directly with industry partners to uncover requirements and iterate on technology and designs, maintaining long-term strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with peers, cross-functional engineering teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions and drive alignment on technology and plans.
• Assume full ownership of individual projects throughout the development life-cycle and provide leadership on collaborative projects.
• Maintain communication with stakeholders through written and verbal updates, including technical design documentation and reviews.
