Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will serve as a Sr Associate Clinical Supply Chain - NAMP Planner / Buyer.
Reporting to Manager Clinical Finish Drug Product and Comparator Supply, you will provide operational and executional support for Non-Amgen Medicinal Products (NAMP) activities within the Development Supply Chain organization.
NAMPs are pharmaceutical products developed by external companies and used in Amgen-sponsored clinical trials as comparator, combination, or supportive therapies. They are critical to enabling study execution by supporting evaluation of Amgen therapies against standard of care, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining continuity of treatment for patients in clinical studies.
This role supports day-to-day supply chain operations including NAMP setup activities, purchase order management, supplier coordination, system transactions, and operational tracking. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers globally, you will help to ensure timely execution of operational activities supporting global clinical studies.
Roles & Responsibilities
Operational Execution & Coordination
- Support NAMP setup and operational activities for global clinical studies.
- Execute day-to-day supply chain processes to support uninterrupted clinical supply operations.
- Coordinate operational activities across internal stakeholders and external suppliers globally to support study timelines.
Procurement & Supplier Support
- Create and manage purchase orders, purchase requisitions, and related procurement transactions.
- Support supplier communication, order follow-up, invoice resolution, and shipment coordination activities.
- Assist with import/export and logistics-related operational processes.
Systems & Documentation Management
- Maintain and update ERP system data including SKU creation, master data updates, and order tracking activities.
- Support documentation management activities within systems such as Veeva Vault, PLM, Smartsheet, and SharePoint.
- Author and maintain controlled documentation in compliance with applicable procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain operational trackers, dashboards, and reports to support business visibility and compliance.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor operational activities and escalate supply or delivery issues as appropriate.
- Support compliance, documentation, and audit readiness activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency and process consistency.
Functional Skills
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience supporting supply chain, procurement, or operational activities within regulated environments, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems for material planning and management, procurement systems such as Ariba/MyBuy and MS Tools (Microsoft Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Experience coordinating with external suppliers, supporting shipment coordination or import/export activities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication & cross-functional collaboration skills, including fluency in English both in oral and written communication.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with Veeva Vault and PLM systems preferred.
- Solid procurement skills (e.g. gathering market intelligence, negotiation, vendor relationship management).
- APICS or Lean/Six Sigma certification.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of supply chain, logistics, planning, or operations experience
- Master’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in regulated manufacturing or life sciences industry preferred.
