Job Summary

The Pharmacy Purchase & Inventory Pharmacist is responsible for managing pharmacy procurement, indenting, inventory control, stock monitoring, and vendor coordination to ensure uninterrupted availability of medicines and medical supplies while maintaining regulatory compliance and accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and manage pharmacy indents based on departmental requirements.

Handle procurement and purchasing of medicines, consumables, and surgical supplies.

Monitor stock availability and maintain optimum inventory levels.

Track batch numbers, expiry dates, and stock movement.

Ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for quotations, negotiations, and timely deliveries.

Verify purchase orders, invoices, delivery challans, and GRNs.

Maintain inventory records using pharmacy management software.

Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliation.

Implement FIFO/FEFO inventory practices.

Identify near-expiry, slow-moving, and non-moving stock.

Prepare inventory and purchase reports for management review.

Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and hospital policies.

Coordinate with pharmacy, nursing, and clinical departments regarding stock requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Pharm or M.Pharm from a recognized institution

Registered Pharmacist preferred

Experience in hospital pharmacy, procurement, or inventory management preferred

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory management

Purchase and vendor management skills

Good analytical and documentation abilities

Proficiency in MS Excel and pharmacy software

Strong communication and coordination skills

Attention to detail and organizational skills
